Melinda Berry, MSW, LCSW
Melinda is a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with children and families for more than three decades. With a Psychology degree from Indiana University and an MSW from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Melinda is a life-long learner and earned a graduate certificate in Infant and Toddler Studies from Erikson Institute to enhance her work with early childhood since 2000.
From tiny tots to teens, Melinda comes to NSFS with experience supporting families in their homes, childcare programs, schools, and outpatient therapy. She also has worked with foster kids and adults to address a variety of challenges including anxiety and all of life’s wild curveballs. Her approach is based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, helping her clients uncover their inner confidence and become empowered. She’s a big believer that everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, especially kids figuring out how to navigate school and their changing emotions. She works closely with parents to build their needed toolkits to support their children’s and teen’s development.
Beyond her professional life, Melinda’s an animal lover who spends her downtime chilling with her cats and dog—or lending a hand at the local animal shelter. She’s also a fan of getting lost in a good book, catching a theater show, or diving into classic movies and suspense series.
