Andrea is a Licensed Professional and National Certified Counselor. As a therapist, she works with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Depression, Peer and Family Relationships, Life Transitions, and Identity.
As someone who experienced significant life changes in her childhood, Andrea understands the importance of having a safe space to process thoughts and feelings without judgment. Her therapeutic approach is founded on the principles of Person Centered Therapy, which prioritizes collaboration, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, as well as Existential Therapy, which focuses on creating meaning in our lives. Her eclectic and holistic approach utilizes various interventions and approaches, depending on the individual’s needs. Common approaches she has used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Strengths-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Indiana University Bloomington. She also completed a minor in Gender Studies with a focus on intersectionality. Upon completion, Andrea worked at a Chicago Public School for 5 years, assisting immigrant and refugee students and their families. She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her loved ones and pets, reading, watching reality TV, cooking, and listening to music.
