Shanna Zhang, MA, LSW

Shanna is a bilingual licensed social worker who earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. She has worked with children, teens, and families in a variety of settings including school and community mental health center. She’s fluent in Mandarin.

 

Shanna has always enjoyed working with kids, teens, parents, and families. She has supported clients and families who have experienced anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, difficulty with emotional regulation, school-related concerns, and interpersonal challenges.

 

Shanna strongly values the therapeutic relationship and believes that it’s the cornerstone of therapy. Therefore, she strives to provide a safe space for her clients and form a power-with therapeutic alliance with her clients and families.

 

When working with kids and teens, Shanna likes to incorporate art, games, and activities into evidence-based approaches. She also recognizes the importance of movement for emotional regulation. Shanna hopes to help her clients to achieve their goals and grow as an individual through therapy.

 

When not working, Shanna enjoys riding horses, taking care of her cat, going out for a run, spending time with friends, and watching tv shows.
