Kristi Ore, MA, LPC, CFTP

Kristi Ore is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a Child and Adolescent Concentration at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Purdue University in Fort Wayne, IN. Additionally she is a Certified Family Trauma Professional since 2017. Kristi has worked with adolescents and families as a psychotherapist at a therapeutic day school since 2016. She has worked in a group practice setting, providing therapy to children, adolescents, families, adults, and couples since 2019.

 

Kristi’s approach is individualized to meet each client’s needs. Kristi works to build a positive rapport with each client while providing a safe and trusting space to allow clients to explore and process past and current experiences, patterns of behavior, thoughts and emotions. Kristi collaborates with her clients, meeting them where they are at, providing unconditional positive regard, helping clients develop a greater sense of self-awareness, positive self-image, and overall improvement in one’s psychological, social, and emotional well-being.

 

Kristi’s years of experience in a therapeutic school setting, has given her the opportunity to work with a highly diverse population and range of social and emotional challenges. Kristi has worked with individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder, reactive attachment disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, relational difficulties, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Kristi has a solid understanding of Special Education and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and worked to collaborate with students, parents, and home districts to implement goals to meet students’ social and emotional needs. Kristi enjoys working with couples and uses a Gottman framework, providing support and helping couples to reconnect and improve their relationship. Her areas of interest include trauma related disorders, attachment, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties and social emotional health.

 

When Kristi is not working, she spends time with friends and family, boating and jet skiing, taking her dog for walks, and cooking.
