Janelle A. Otero, MC, LCPC

Janelle is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor that has worked in mental health since 2016. She understands that there is no cookie-cutter approach to therapy, no one size fits all, no single magic formula that will suddenly make everything better. Janelle sees therapy as a collaborative effort and her approach is to meet you where you are. We have to start somewhere, so why not here?

Janelle enjoys working with preteens, teens, and adults to manage concerns such as depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, and life transitions. She may teach you stress management through relaxation, ask you to color your feelings, or have a conversation about what is preventing you from taking a chance and doing that thing you have been talking about doing. Janelle helps her clients develop self-awareness, feel validated, and be served challenges with a side of small triumphs.

Janelle enjoys classic Disney movies, crime shows, and German Shepherds. An advocate for mental health access for all, she also volunteers for a Chicago-based mental health initiative.
