Annie Cacchione, MS, LCPC

Annie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Capella University and her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has advanced training in Perinatal Mood Disorders and is pursuing her certification in perinatal mental health. Annie has worked with children and families as a school counselor since 2013. She is also bilingual and can provide counseling in Spanish.

Annie operates from a strengths-based perspective, and is committed to providing a safe space for clients of all ages to explore their true potential. In this space, vulnerability is embraced, and self-awareness is enhanced. Together, she will work collaboratively with you and your family to set and achieve the goals that will assist you on your path to wellness. Annie enjoys helping children, teens and young adults learn to cope with family changes, life transitions, and school/social stressors. Additionally, she has extensive experience and training working with depression, anxiety and executive functioning. Through conversation, activities, and games, she employs Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral techniques, coupled with mindfulness strategies to help shed light onto how thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and consequences are connected.

Annie’s years of experience as a counselor in the schools have provided her with an understanding of the daily stressors and mental health needs of children and teens. She is able to integrate her knowledge of Special Education, Individualized Education Plans, and Section 504 Plans to collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure success in the school environment for her clients. She believes in working with family members and school staff as a collaborative team to facilitate change and ensure that skills are learned not only in the therapeutic environment, but at home and school as well.

When Annie isn’t at work, she loves spending time with her husband and two young daughters. Prior to having kids, she loved to travel and get to know new cultures, traditions, and foods. Now, Annie practices what she preaches, and is a huge advocate for self-care and balance.  She enjoys exercising, trying out a new restaurant with friends, or indulging in a new show on Netflix.
